Importance of Giving and Sharing

Have you ever asked yourself whether there is any joy in giving? If you have never, ask yourself today and to find an answer just give somebody something and you will get the answer. Many people feel happy when they receive things from others. Sometimes you get overwhelmed when you receive from strangers. Everybody likes receiving, but giving is quite challenging. In the bible it is written that it is more blessing to give than to receive. As Christians, we are always taught that by giving we will receive either 10 folds, 50 folds or even 100 folds. But our main aim of giving should not be just to receive. In giving itself there is satisfaction. We should see giving as a way of helping God reach other people through us since what we have is not ours but God's. The 'thank you' we receive often when we give is quite pleasing. And even though we may receive from giving it may not be too soon although this is what makes many people to stop giving. They want to give today and to receive tomorrow or even in the same day, may be in an hour's time.
As you read this, you might be wondering what you can give. I am so poor, or may be I am so much financially tight that giving seems impossible but all in all there is a saying that goes, "Nobody is too poor to give, and nobody is too rich to receive." This can only be true when you believe with me that it is not only money or material things we can give. We can give advice, we can give love, we can even give our presence where it is required, imagine. So when we talk of giving don't just think of financial and material giving, think in all ways that you might be required to give and if you are financially or materially capable you can also give through that.
So my fellow readers and writers, giving is a topic so wide that we can help one another just by expressing how we feel about it.
In conclusion, tonight before you go to bed, make sure you give something, even if it is just a smile or something you consider so valueless, start with it and as you realize the meaning of giving you will find yourself giving more and more. You can see what you are giving as meaningless or valueless but you never know there might be another person somewhere dying for that which you consider useless or meaningless or valueless, remember it is you who consider it thus but not the other person.
May God bless us all as we give.
