How to live a life that is pleasing to God

As Christians we are always required to live a life that is adorable by others especially non Christians. By surrendering our lives to Christ we are making a commitment to Him and one of such commitments is to live a life that is similar to His. It might not be easy or even possible to live exactly like Christ but we can try to imitate His ways of living through reading the bible and Christian teachings.
When trying to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord there are always many stumbling blocks. One of them is the desire to go back to our old ways of doing things. When we surrender our lives to Christ we forgo our past and focus on the present and future although the future we should always leave to Christ Himself for no one knows what the future holds but Christ Himself. For example, a robber may get born again, surrender his gun to the police, decide to live a totally clean life. Things work out in the first few months but somewhere in between he is hit hard by financial needs that he is unable to meet. He might be tempted to go back and steal but if he focuses his eyes on Christ and prays and puts his needs before Him then he will surely succeed and please God. But what draws many of us back is the fact that sometimes prayers are not answered immediately and this is when we start wondering whether God will really fulfill our needs and without realizing we go back to our old ways of doing things in order to satisfy a situation and this can be displeasing to God.

It is not being perfect that makes us pleasing in the eyes of the Lord but most likely struggling to do His will no matter how hard it may seem. Remember David of the Bible? God loved him so much but his life was not perfect. He had so many down falls but one thing that saw him through was the fact that he was always willing to repent and humble himself before the Lord once he realized he had erred before the Lord. As Christians, we can always renew our faith and strength in the Lord by asking for his forgiveness always.
Dear Brothers and Sisters have you done something that you feel is unforgivable? Is the devil whispering in your ear that you have sinned beyond forgiveness? Do not listen to the devil's voice. Seek the Lord himself through prayers and fasting. Humble yourself before him and tell him how much your sin has affected your life. He will listen, He is a God of forgiveness. Do not let the devil take what you have but hang on to your faith.
